Peppermint Bark Snowflakes (Printable Version)

# What You'll Need:

→ Chocolate Layers

01 - 7 oz semi-sweet or dark chocolate, chopped
02 - 7 oz high-quality white chocolate, chopped

→ Peppermint Topping

03 - 6 peppermint candy canes or hard peppermint candies, crushed (about 1/2 cup)

04 - 1/2 tsp peppermint extract

# Steps:

01 - Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or arrange 12 silicone snowflake molds.
02 - Heat the semi-sweet or dark chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth, or melt using a double boiler.
03 - If desired, stir 1/4 tsp peppermint extract into the melted dark chocolate.
04 - Pour the melted dark chocolate into molds or spread evenly in a 1/4-inch thick layer on the baking sheet. Tap gently to level.
05 - Refrigerate for 15 minutes or until the chocolate is firm.
06 - Melt white chocolate in a clean bowl using the same method as before.
07 - Optionally stir 1/4 tsp peppermint extract into the melted white chocolate.
08 - Pour the white chocolate over the set dark chocolate layer and evenly spread with an offset spatula.
09 - Sprinkle crushed peppermint candies evenly over the white chocolate and press lightly to adhere.
10 - Refrigerate for at least 15 minutes until fully set.
11 - Remove from molds or break into snowflake shapes. Store in an airtight container in a cool location.
